Modulated audio and video recordings on the topic of distance were made in Prague and Berlin during the two lockdowns in 2020. This developed into a web-based online installation on Mozilla Hubs. Thrän's apartments in the respective cities are abstractly modeled, they are connected via 2 videos and a 6-channel sound installation. Access is unlimited online with an avatar. Comparable to a computer game through one's own movement, the different sound channels become audible in a differentiated manner. 25 people can go live online and exchange ideas with each other.

Fragments of Distance – ON(e) Distance

“Viewed under the magnifying glass, things appear strange to us, so enlarged there is a distance – not only to the things but to ourselves – because we do not recognize them and thus ourselves.” Our perception of time accelerates this process by slowing it down; the deceleration ordered by Covid-19 caused a shift in perception that sometimes comes close to an enlargement or mirroring of our circumstances. But what is alienation and what proportion of a relationship is being described here?”
